Click on the + next to Advanced to access the sub-categories.
Now go to the Category marked Proxies.
Check the item "Direct connection
to the Internet"
Click on Navigator under
Category
Select "Home Page " under the heading "Navigator starts with"
Type "erienet.net" (without
the quotes) in the field "Home page location".
Click on the + next to Mail
& Groups to access the sub-categories.
Now go to the Category marked Identity. Set the following:
Your Name = set this to
whatever you want to show up in outgoing email messages
Email Address = your
username (e.g. howard@erienet.net)
Reply-to address = your
username (e.g. howard@erienet.net)
Organization = your
company name (if any, you can leave this blank)
Now go to the Category marked Mail Server.
In the Box "Incoming Mail Servers", delete all current incoming mail servers.
Click the "Add" button, Set the following:
Server Name: mail.erienet.net
Server Type: IMAP Server
User Name: your username
(e.g. howard) - this MUST be in all lowercase, all small letters, no spaces!
Check the box marked "Remember
Password"
Check the box marked "Check
for mail every 15 minutes"
Click OK
Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: mail.erienet.net
Outgoing mail server username: your username (e.g. howard) - this MUST be in all lowercase, all small letters, no spaces!
Now go to the Category marked
Newsgroup Server.
Deleted any unwanted items.
Click the "Add" button, Set the following:
Set the following:
Server: news.erienet.net
Port: 119
Leave the checkboxes unchecked.
Click OK
In the box marked "When
sending a mail message, automatically"
Check the box marked -
Place a copy in folder: 'Sent' on Local Mail
If
the above is not set to "'Sent' on Local Mail", click the button
"Choose Folder" and set to 'Sent' on Local Mail.
In the box marked "When
sending a newsgroup message, automatically"
Check the box marked -
Place a copy in folder: 'Sent' on Local Mail
If
the above is not set to "'Sent' on Local Mail", click the button
"Choose Folder" and set to 'Sent' on Local Mail.
In the box marked "Storage
for Drafts and Templates"
Make sure that the following
is set - Keep 'Drafts' on Local Mail
If the above is not set to
"'Drafts' on Local Mail", click the button "Choose Folder" and
set to 'Drafts' on Local Mail.
Make sure that the following
is set - Keep 'Templates' on Local Mail
If the above is not set to
"'Templates' on Local Mail", click the button "Choose Folder"
and
set to 'Templates' on Local Mail.
Click OK
The remaining settings are options based on personal preferences and should not be changed unless you fully understand their function(s).

Communicator may be accessed by pressing F1 for help.
Always remember to copy any mail you wish to save to your local hard drive, old mail messages will be deleted from your Inbox periodically.
