This procedure details how to set up dial-up networking for a computer running Windows NT 4.0 Workstation. Users configuring Windows NT 4.0 Server need to contact their system administrator before proceeding. These are the steps needed to connect to Erienet via PPP using a standard modem and with your IP address assigned dynamically.

Installing Windows NT 4.0 network components

Install the networking components during the installation of NT 4.0. When going through the network installation section, the components should be configured as follows:

Setting up dial-up networking

Open "My Computer" and open "Dial-up networking." Follow the set-up wizard and enter information for the phonebook (Erienet , 18773278596, location, etc.). When finished, click "More", then "Edit entry and Modem Properties."

Connecting to Erienet

  • After the dial-up is finished you may wish to place a shortcut to it on the desktop.
